Our story with Jill & Cary started a few years ago. We got an inquiry for their May 2009 wedding in St Augustine. They stated that they just weren’t overly excited about their current photographer. Well, we met with them, not overly excited since we are not out to have another photographer lose a wedding, especially if this is what they do to support their family. Mike shared his heart (as he usually does) and added that he wasn’t here to get them to switch. I guess they had already made up their minds because they said they wanted us to tell their story. Wow. They got it. They understood what we do and wanted it for themselves. We were so very excited!
Their beautiful wedding came and went and we stayed in touch, like we do with most of our couples. They had moved to Gainesville and were in town the first part of 2010. Jill came by the house one Friday evening and as she was leaving asked if I knew of any homes for rent, as they were planning on moving back to Orlando soon. A house just two houses down from me was for rent, owned by my friends. Well, Jill and Cary came back on Sunday and looked and basically rented onsite. Cary shared with us that he was being deployed to Afghanistan for 4 months as a CRNA and he was comforted knowing that Jill would be close to people he trusted. Okay..so, wow! I guess we really are so much more to our couples than photographers. We knew in that moment that what we hoped to become one day, we had. We were trusted – on so many levels. We were friends. We were so much more than photographers. And this made us so very happy. I was so excited to have them as neighbors. It was (and still is) surreal!
Jill and Cary have been our neighbors for a year now, and we have enjoyed having them just across the street. We were so excited when Jill told us of her pregnancy. However, Cary was to de deployed for 4 months during that time. Heck, we might as well have been deployed as much travel as we did from November through end of January. When Cary arrived home, Mike was there to document his reunion with his very pregnant wife. It was an amazing time.
Jill should soon deliver their first child and hopefully Mike will be free to be there to document it all. We would be thrilled beyond belief to be there for them. It will truly be amazing. We spent some time with them recently to capture Jill’s maternity and the love that she and Cary share. We hope you can see and feel the love and their anticipation for the baby. They do not know the sex yet, as they decided to wait since Cary was deployed at the time the sex of the baby could be determined. How awesome!!! Enjoy some of our favorites.
Thank you, Jill & Cary, for becoming our neighbors and such great friends. We are so excited about this next chapter of your lives and we’re totally honored to be there documenting it for you! See you soon!!!!!!
