Decatur First United Methodist Church Wedding Photographer :: Getting To Know Jenna & Patrick
Jenna reached out to us last year after she and Patrick got engaged. She and Mike have know of each other since their teenage years in St Timonthy’s youth group in Atlanta. She wanted to know if we knew any Atlanta photographers we could recommend. “Us” we said!! We consider Atlanta a second home to us (our family is from there after all) so there isn’t a travel charge for us to document wedding stories there. We met soon thereafter and are SO excited to be a part of this amazing journey.
Jenna & Patrick met through mutual friends at a local hangout in Dec 2008. She thought he was the cutest guy in the whole place! Patrick admired Jenna’s smile, beautiful long hair and funny personality. They conversed. It was later suggested that they all go eat at a mexican restaurant sometime. None of the other friends could make it (gee, how strange) so it ended up being just the two of them. And, thus, the courtship began.
It was eventually at Patrick’s brother’s wedding when they both felt it. They both knew it was love. That’s pretty awesome to know it at about the same time. Since Patrick now knew he loved this amazing woman, it was on to the next logical step – proposing!! He wrote a poem for Jenna and carved their initials in a tree in Piedmont Park. He took her down to the tree where he stood in front of he carving as he read her the poem. He then knelt down to propose allowing her to see the beautiful carving. She said yes!
Mike joined Jenna and Patrick for some time in Tucker and then in Piedmont Park for their getting-to-know-you session. It was so cool to be there at the site where they got engaged at their tree where the symbol of their love will remain for many, many years.

[...] After the ceremony, everyone made their way over to the Emory Conference Center to celebrate with the new Mr & Mrs Kennedy. The newlyweds made their way over in style in Patrick’s dad’s ’57 Chevy Bel Air. What a gorgeous car! It sure made for a fantastic ride for Jenna & Patrick, especially with Patrick’s dad sporting the chauffeur hat. The best part of the evening was Patrick professing his love for Jenna and welcoming her to the family through a poem he had beautifully written. Patrick proposed to Jenna reading a poem he wrote while standing at the tree he had carved their initials in down in Piedmont Park.
