Being that tomorrow is The Best Day Ever, I thought I’d introduce you to some of the Best People Ever. I met Emily of Emily Grace Designs at Katy & Cooper’s wedding back in March of 2011. She did such an amazing job and Mike and I were really drawn to her refreshing spirit. We’ve gotten to know her since then and we’ve also done a couple more weddings together. Last year when I decided to have a birthday party for my boys, I called Emily to see if she could help. She graciously agreed and we put it all together in just two weeks. It was an over-the-top Transformers party for my 4 & 6 yr olds. Do I have images to show you? No, I don’t. Not yet. We just found them 3 weeks ago. It’s like this – the cobbler’s kid goes without shoes, the CPA files an extension and finally files on the last day, the plumber has leaky toilets and the photographer doesn’t have the time to process his own stuff. But, when I do finally get the images ready, you WILL see them here. It was an amazing party – the BEST ever. I have Emily & Brain to thank! We then had them over for chili & beer last November and they asked us that night if we would document their wedding. I was speechless, except for the screaming and dancing part! You see, some of their closest friends are some of the most talented artists we’ve seen – photographers and videographers with amazing talent and skill. It just so happens that they are all part of the wedding! We are beyond honored to be a part of this amazing time.

Emily and Brian met as counselors at a the Warren W Willis Methodist Camp back in 2006. They have such an amazing story and have already been through so much together. And because they are SO much better at telling their own own story, you MUST stop by their wedding website, www.robotunicornwedding.com. It is truly awesome! If the name alone doesn’t pique your curiosity, then something is just wrong with you! It’s pretty much, hands down, the BEST wedding website I’ve ever seen. Unicorns represent the magical world that Emily was meant to live in. She is convinced that her Hogwarts Acceptance Letter got lost in the owl post when she was 10 because she definitely belongs in the magical world! Brian’s proposal to Emily happened literally inside a Harry Potter Book!
Mike spent time on two occasions with these guys documenting what their life and relationship looks like right now. It is so important to tell the story of life as it is now so it can be looked back on, since it probably will look a little different in 10 years!I love pretty pictures as much as the next gal, but I love beautiful people and relationships even more. Someone’s beauty is discovered through getting to know them and them trusting you enough to open up – to be authentic & genuine. Mike started out with Emily & Brian in their new home where they will start building their new lives together. People are usually most comfortable in familiar places, so home is always a great place to start! For us, creating an image is about capturing who people are, not just what they look like in some pretty location. It is about capturing the essence of their personalities – their beauty. It’s the difference in “Thank you for capturing us so perfectly” versus “Thanks for taking such awesome pictures of us.” We just absolutely love these guys and are so thrilled to feature them as our very first unicorns on the blog! I could literally go on and on about how fantastic I think these guys are. They’re just THAT cool! We are so excited about today and tomorrow and being able to help capture and preserve the important relationships in their lives and the celebration of their union at the Orlando Apopka Airport.
