Photo 101 Workshop

Do you have a camera capable of amazing things, yet find yourself frustrated when the image you thought you were going to capture never materializes?

Do you typically use your camera on the fully-automated modes because you don’t fully understand how to use the different settings and features available on your camera?

Whether you want to photograph landscapes, architecture, portraits, or just want to take better pictures of your family, this workshop will help you gain the skills necessary to take control over your camera, instead of letting the camera control the image!

Mike & Ann will cover how to use your camera effectively, and will give great tips on photographing your family and the stories of your life. Even if you only own a point and shoot, you will benefit!

What We Will Cover

We’ll get you started on your journey from being a snapshot taker to an image maker by providing you a foundation to build upon:

• Telling the Story – An introduction to visual storytelling and how to begin capturing your own stories.
• Camera Basics – Introduction to Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO and how they work together to create an image.
• Lighting and Flash – How to find and use natural light and how to add flash when you need to.

• A fun mix of classroom concepts (live demonstrations, slideshows and discussion) followed up with hands-on activities.
• Small class size (10 or less) for personal attention and fun relationship building.
• Post-class assignment and personal follow-up call with Mike & Ann for any additional help with items we covered during the day.

• Orlando, FL: Saturday October 9th
• Class begins promptly at 9:30 a.m., and will end at around 4:00 p.m.
• A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.
• NOTE: A follow up email with final location details and participant questionnaire will be sent out after registration.

About Your Instructors:
Orlando Kids & Family Photographers Mike & Ann Buoy are the owners and professional photographic artists of Mike & Ann | Visual Storytellers. Prior to opening their studio in 2005, Mike started out as as an instructional designer, consultant and workshop instructor for a educational software company traveling the country hosting workshops. Joined by his wife Ann (and better half) in 2007, as the Creative Director she found her then untapped passion, skill and talent for for editing, storytelling and album design. As a serial entrepreneur, Ann brings her talent of “running the show” and business knowledge to the team. Together they live in Altamonte Springs, FL with their two young boys, Bryce and Brooks, and have a blast trying to balance marriage, parenting, business and fun.
