Ripped right out of a romance novel, right??? Well, sort of. This is the story of Jamie & Gavin, with maybe a little added embellishment by the author. Gavin didn’t actually buy Jamie a drink. You see, Gavin ordered the drinks then realized he was out of money, thus having Jamie actually buy the drinks!! Hence the picnic that Gavin took Jamie on to make up for it. And, thus, a love of picnics and for each other began.

There are so many other things that Jamie & Gavin love, one being New York. It was only fitting that we did their Getting-to-Know-You Session there, in this great and fabulous city that they live in and love. Mike traveled up there during one of the many super-cold snaps we’ve had this winter. It was especially chilly!! They were such great sports, but I’m sure they were glad to get back to their apartment and warm up snuggling on the couch. Here’s some of our favorites from their Super Bowl Sunday session.

Their wedding celebration continued at their gorgeous Heron Bay Lakefront Park and Pavillion reception. This place is breathtaking!

Megan and Brian are so laid back, which helps when you’re planning a wedding and getting married. I knew after having several conversations with Megan that the most important thing on her wedding day was Brian. Everything else was just “stuff”. Well, seems lots of “stuff” happens when you’re getting married. I knew that they wanted this day to be about them and no one else, really.  They had an intimate wedding with the most important people in their lives surrounding and honoring them. It was fantastic!

Megan was absolutely stunning and Brian was just beside himself all day. You can see it on his face, especially when he looks at her during the ceremony. It was like she was the only person in the world. You can see his deep love and appreciation for her in his eyes. It’s so incredible! There were so many awesome moments throughout this day.

The day started very early as I witnessed the sun rise up into the sky and break through the clouds that had delivered such horrible weather the day before! The day was turning out beautifully as I made my way to the bride’s house to meet up with the girls who were being transformed by Sue with A Woman’s Way Medispa and Philip with Dominic Ricci Salon and Day Spa . We made it over to the Caryle around 9:30am where Lizz and Jeremy soon met up for their “First Look” amongst the wedding party and family.  What an amazing and emotional time that was!

I had some alone time with Lizz and Jeremy for their bride and groom session right after. Lizz was radiant in her wedding dress from CC’s Boutique with florals from Flowers by Burton. There was a great deal of activity all around since this was the site of the upcoming U.S Open. There were tents and trailers and people everywhere! We still got amazing images since the connection and love between two people always trumps any “distractions”. We had gorgeous weather and gorgeous morning light! The ceremony was beautiful and the celebration continued during the reception with the help of Hank Lane Music and Productions. It was a great party

A huge thanks to Ty Miller of Copper Dog Photography for making the VERY LONG trip up to New York to help me out on his one. You ROCK, man!!

This wedding was so Michelle and Clayton! From Michelle’s shoes to her gloves and Clayton’s cowboy hat to his pistol strapped to his leg, the details of this wedding were all about who they are and the fun they have together.  They did an amazing job of putting everything together and providing an awesome experience for their guests.

Rosa Guinn with Advanced Hair Design in Ocala transformed Michelle’s hair into a bridal masterpiece. Tracy and Renee with Stop and Smell the Roses provided Michelle and the wedding party with the most unique bridal flowers we’ve ever seen! Great job! Romina Hernandez and her team did a wonderful transformation on the Westgate reception hall. What beautiful centerpieces! DJ John with Traveling Sound & Light kept the hats tippin’ and boots scootin’ until the after party moved on the ranch saloon Much fun was had by all!

First stop: The old stomping grounds. Apparently lots of fun and good memories were attached to a somewhat secret hideout located in an obscure corner of the campus gardens. After a few missed turns and a little bushwacking through overgrown trails we found the spot. Parts of the bench had been rebuilt, but the spot still had all the character from years of hanging out. It had a nice view of the river running by it. I was crouching down to get a shot when Brett said, “Hey Mike, watch out for gators down there”. Didn’t need to tell me twice

Lots of laughs as they reminisced about “back in the day…”

We then moved onto the campus commons and hung out under the clock tower.

After that, it was time to head to the beach. A short 10 min drive from campus and we were barefoot in the sand. Good thing I didn’t go to school here or you’d have to peel me away from the beach to get me back into class
