Getting To Know Holli & Scott :: Lake Eola Park, Orlando FL

” I had ALWAYS been crazy about him” Holli says about Scott. We met Scott as groomsman in Stephanie & Jon’s wedding in 2008. She’s had a crush on him since they met through Scott’s best friend about 7 years ago. Holli was at FSU and Scott at UF. I know, ANOTHER mixed marriage!! They’ll make it, though. There will definitely be some rough game days, but their love for each other shall prevail Well, after meeting and hanging out a bit here and there, it was several years later that these two reconnected after running into each other and hanging out all night in Downtown Orlando. They were both finally single and Holli “snatched him up” for herself. Forever…….

Their first “official” date took place at Wild Side BBQ in Thornton Park. They had dinner and then made their way around Lake Eola. They ended up in a local pub with Scott showing Holli how you really play darts. So, for their getting-to-know-you session, that’s just what we did. And what fun we had!!

Married :: Travis & Michelle’s Amazing Tropical Island Themed Wedding

We have waited for this day for 2 1/2 years!! It finally arrived and was beyond amazing in every way. Michelle & Travis are such an amazing couple and we couldn’t be more honored to be a part of their day and love story. They originally booked us back in October 2007, and then decided to reschedule the wedding for a later date. They contacted us again months later with the new date, and thus our journey with them began. We have really enjoyed getting to know them and understand their love for each other. They have such love, respect and admiration for each other. We are so thrilled they are finally Mr & Mrs Parrott.

They wed just a couple of weeks ago on Banyan Tree Ranch, the treasured home of Michelle’s parents. This is where Michelle & Travis love to be with the people and animals they love and they can be as they are. They then celebrated with family & friends at their Radisson Resort at the Port reception.

Family Legacy :: Amy & Richard’s Storybook Album

I want to share a little bit about what we do with all the amazing and incredibly emotive images we document & capture on your wedding day. We do so much more than just take pictures that are handed over on a disc. We personally have proofs in a box from our wedding and no album- certainly no story of our wedding day. We tell the story in storybook format and also through the slideshows we post on each couple’s Story Page. It is our passion to tell your story and ensure that your story is preserved for generations. It’s not just your wedding day- it’s the creation of a family. We understand how important that is and that’s why your album is core to what we do and how we operate.

Amy & Richard created a new family unit when they became husband & wife back in November at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with the reception at The Country Club of Lake City. You can read more and see images of their gorgeous wedding here & here. You can also see their Disney Boardwalk getting-to-know-you-session here. They chose to invest in a completely custom, two-volume, 126-page album set. Amy’s mom got the 100-page “abridged” version. These albums are so gorgeous and the pictures truly can’t illustrate their beauty. They are heavy, well-constructed books that are designed to last for a lifetime and them some, being passed on for generations so that your family legacy continues to live on. Each album design is also completely custom, as it tells the story of your day. We use no pre-made templates. Everything we do is customized to you and your style and your story!

Getting to Know Jill & Jonathan :: Baldwin Park Engagement Session

She called me an ambulance chaser, Jonathan recalls. He thought it was actually pretty funny and appreciated Jill’s honesty. After all, He was a PI attorney at the time. Jill & Jonathan met during the Moot Court cocktail party in law school- Jill thinking of how cute, tall & funny he was. But the cute, tall & funny didn’t keep her from going abroad to London to study. It was a couple of years later when they finally became reacquainted at a friend’s wedding.

It was just meant to be- as they say. The stars must have perfectly aligned for Jill & Jonathan to come together the way they did. Or, maybe it was that Jonathan stealthily arranged to have their seats next to each other during the wedding reception. Nonetheless, two years after their initial encounter, they began dating and very soon thereafter fell in love. And the journey continues…..

We had such a great time getting to know and hang out with them for their Baldwin Park session. Jonathan is a Guitar Hero fanatic, so that’s how we started. Their long-haired chihuahua puppies, Izzy & Mo watched as Jonathan opened up a can of whoop-ass on Jill. She’s not alone- he apparently does this to ALL his friends! He’s the Guitar Hero king.

We are so honored and excited to document their Omni at Champions Gate wedding & reception this October. Please enjoy some of our favs…

Winter Park Bride & Groom Session with Jenn & Steve

We met Brooke back in November at Amy & Richard’s wedding when she was a bridesmaid. Her best friend Jennifer was getting married soon and they had already secured a photographer. Brooke loved what we do so much that she gifted a bridal session with us to Jennifer. What a great best friend and maid of honor! In talking with Jennifer, it became clear that she really wanted her hubby Steve to be a part of this. So, the bridal session turned into a fabulous bride & groom session without the time constraints of the wedding day. The session happened after the wedding, so no worry about keeping the dress pristine! We went to downtown Winter Park in and around the gazebo where they got engaged. How romantic!

Jenn & Steve worked together and were friends a long time before dating. Jenn accompanied Steve to a business event in Miami and, well, they’ve been together ever since. They each love how smart the other one is with Steve being the smart-ass with a great sense of humor and Jenn being the more reserved one. Dinner (cooked by Steve), wine, and hanging out in the backyard round out a fantastic day for these two. We wish them the very best in their journey as husband & wife! Congratulations!

Married :: Lewis & Lora’s Orlando Wedding

March 6, 2010 could not have been the more perfect day, especially for Lora & Lewis who were being united in Christ as husband & wife. God definitely gave his blessings this day as far as the weather was concerned! We have been planning this day with Lora & Lewis for a long time, & we are so incredibly humbled and honored that they chose to invest in us as their wedding-day storytellers. We met Lora through Summer & Brandon’s wedding almost four years ago. Lora also works with Nikki (who married Brady) a few years back also. There were three of our couples there!

Lora & Lewis were wed at Delaney Street Baptist Church and later celebrated with friends and family at Sorosis Women’s Club near Lake Eola. Lora radiated and was a true princess in her Alfred Angelo gown. Her beauty was polished by make-up artist Meghann Davis and hair stylist Traci Allen of XanderBlue Salon. She looked phenomenal!! Lora’s vision for a black and hot pink themed wedding was really brought to life through her amazing florals by A Downtown Florist and fabulous DIY details. Everything looked amazing!! Diane Vaught made the delicious cake and David with Meister Productions provided the entertainment. Lora & Lewis surprised everyone with an incredible waltz for their first dance. It was awesome! Great job, Mr & Mrs Vail

After the celebration, Mike went with Lora & Lewis for an amazing “after session”. We had more time and were able to get some great images of the newlyweds.

Getting to Know Jamie & Gavin :: New York, New York

It was Paris, Summer of 2006. Their eyes discover one another at the bar. She thinks he is the most incredibly sexy man she has ever seen. For her, it’s love at first sight. He meanders his way through the crowd and buys her a drink. He is struck by her sophisticated elegance and remarkable beauty. She is attracted to his relaxed confidence, sense of humor and dreamy blue eyes. And they talk into the evening. They soon picnic in the park while lovingly gazing into one another’s eyes………

Ripped right out of a romance novel, right??? Well, sort of. This is the story of Jamie & Gavin, with maybe a little added embellishment by the author. Gavin didn’t actually buy Jamie a drink. You see, Gavin ordered the drinks then realized he was out of money, thus having Jamie actually buy the drinks!! Hence the picnic that Gavin took Jamie on to make up for it. And, thus, a love of picnics and for each other began.

There are so many other things that Jamie & Gavin love, one being New York. It was only fitting that we did their Getting-to-Know-You Session there, in this great and fabulous city that they live in and love. Mike traveled up there during one of the many super-cold snaps we’ve had this winter. It was especially chilly!! They were such great sports, but I’m sure they were glad to get back to their apartment and warm up snuggling on the couch. Here’s some of our favorites from their Super Bowl Sunday session.

Welcome to Our New Blog!!!

Welcome! And thanks for stopping by. This is our newly re-born blog and we are so very excited about it. It has only taken us about 3 years to get here, but hey, who’s counting??

I thought we should start off by introducing who is most important to us- our boys Brooks & Bryce- just in case you didn’t know by now! They are the reason we wake in the morning (literally, because they wake us up!!!) and they keep us really focused on what’s important. They also keep us exhausted, frustrated, confused, happy, thankful, amazed, amused and too many others to mention this evening!!

These are images taken by me of our boys over the last 3-4 weeks. I wanted to document their lives in an authentic way- unposed & unscripted- with the messes, tantrums, boo boos and even snot! They are growing up so quickly and I don’t want to miss a single messy moment. I may not like all that’s going on all the time, but I certainly don’t want any of it to go undocumented. And I’ll tell you this- tantrums are easier to photograph than deal with. Just keep clicking and they’ll eventually stop! It’s been working for me

Getting to Know Lora & Lewis :: New York, New York

Lora & Lewis met a few years back through church in a round-a-bout way . The complete story is MUCH better when told by them! It seems that they sort of went on a first date without one of them not actually realizing it was a first date. Hmmmm, bet that was interesting! And well, after a couple months of dating, a breakup, some drama, and a wee bit of begging from one party to another, Lora & Lewis reunited and have been blissfully happy ever since. We are so thrilled that we have been invited to capture, document, and preserve their wedding day and love story for not only just them, but for also their children and grandchildren to enjoy one day.

We met Lora back in 2006 at Summer & Brandon’s wedding where she was a bridesmaid. We have also mentored her some in her own photography business, Lora Roney Photography. Lora has worked with us on a few weddings over the past few years. We feel blessed by her friendship and wish her and Lewis the greatest success in their marriage and business.

Mike traveled up to New York with Lora & Lewis for their Getting-to-Know-you session. They LOVE, LOVE, LOVE New York!!! Did I mention that they love New York? They wanted to get engaged in New York, but it just didn’t happen. There’s no better place to get to know someone than in some place that makes them happy and that they love. It was FREEZING up there last weekend, but they made the best of it galavanting around town and even having a snowball fight! It looks like Lewis may have one that one. Pssst- don’t tell Lora. They all had an amazing time and Mike really captured their love of each other and this wonderful city!

Married :: Richard & Lindsey’s St Augustine Wedding

We had the absolute joy of being in St Augustine a few weeks ago for Lindsey & Richard as they became husband and wife at Ancient City Baptist Church. Family and friends celebrated this “mixed” marriage at the White Room afterwards. What an incredibly fun and genuine group of people.

So, what do I mean by “mixed” marriage? Well, SHE is a Seminole and HE is a Gator. I suppose there are worse things and I suppose their marriage will survive these vast differences. Of course it will!!!! This wedding was so great. Richard serenaded his groomsmen and the girls danced in the street with their “junk in the trunk”. Although it was spotty weather all day, we never got wet and it made for some pretty darn amazing skies. The coolest moment about this day was unknown until we started looking through the images in capture-time order. At almost the SAME time, Lindsey & Richard are each looking at themselves in the mirror- at the St George Inn in different rooms. Isn’t that the coolest? I thought so.

I loved the details of the day and the classic colors. Lindsey looked amazing in her dress from Something Blue and her expertly done hair and makeup by Mike & Kiri with Mosaic Hair Studio. I’m sure Jay Neumark with Simply Wed Videography was able to capture an amazing day on video. Enjoy some of our favorites from their day.
